The University of Dili and Universidade Aberta (Portugal), the only public university exclusively dedicated to Distance Education (EaD), signed today, October 30, 2025, in Lisbon, an important Memorandum of Understanding.
Present at the signing ceremony on behalf of UNDIL were the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Affairs of Undergraduate Education (Francisco Martins da Silva), the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (Januário Freitas Araujo Bernardo), and the Head of the Finance Services (Fortunato Pereira). Representing Universidade Aberta were the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and University Extension (Paulo Bento) and the Vice-Rector for Innovation, Quality, and Digital Transformation (Diogo Casa Nova).
The signing of this memorandum marks the beginning of close cooperation in the areas of continuous training for Portuguese language teachers, postgraduate education (master’s and doctoral programs), virtual faculty mobility, technical and pedagogical support for Distance Education, and multicenter research between the Research Center of Universidade Aberta and the Center for Research and Advanced Training of UNDIL.
