The conference was held at the <strong data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"497\">Macao Polytechnic University (China)<\/strong> under the theme <strong data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"592\">\u201cInnovation for Development in Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Regions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"594\" data-end=\"799\">Academics and researchers from higher education institutions in <strong data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"759\">Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Macao, Mozambique, Portugal, and S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe<\/strong> participated both in person and online.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"1011\">The opening session featured, at the Head Table, the former President of FORGES, <strong data-start=\"882\" data-end=\"900\">Margarida Mano<\/strong> \u2013 who visited UNDIL earlier this year \u2013 and the Rector of Macao Polytechnic University, <strong data-start=\"989\" data-end=\"1010\">Marcus Im Sio Kei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1013\" data-end=\"1235\">UNDIL was represented by the <strong data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1145\">Pro-Rector for Research, Postgraduate Studies, and Cooperation with the CPLP, M. Azancot de Menezes<\/strong>, who was elected <strong data-start=\"1163\" data-end=\"1234\">Full Member of the FORGES Board of Directors for the 2024\u20132027 term<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1714\">In the new FORGES mandate, there are renewed presidencies across the governing bodies and representatives from various CPLP countries.
